The St. Vincent de Paul Society is an international Catholic lay organization dedicated to serving those in need, not through programs and systems, but face to face, person to person. Our parish conference provides direct assistance to individuals and families in Campbell River who are struggling with poverty, housing instability, or crisis.
Vincentians make home visits and provide direct financial assistance with food, utilities, rent, and other necessities, funded entirely by donations and the poor box.
We maintain a food pantry available to anyone in need. Donations of non-perishable food items are always welcome and can be left in the designated box at the church entrance.
Beyond food, the conference can help connect individuals with social services, emergency housing resources, and other community programs.
You can support SVdP by donating to the poor box at Sunday Mass, volunteering your time, or donating food and household items. All contributions go directly to helping neighbours in need.
Come to any bi-weekly meeting after the 11 AM Sunday Mass, or introduce yourself to an SVdP member. New members go through a brief orientation period. All it takes is a willing heart.
