Report AbuseHealing grace in times of need.
The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick brings Christ's healing presence to those who are gravely ill, facing surgery, weakened by old age, or approaching death. It is not a "last rite" reserved only for the dying. It is a sacrament of healing and strength for anyone whose health is seriously diminished. Do not wait until a crisis; call us whenever a loved one is in need.
No formal preparation is required beyond contacting the parish. The priest will come to the hospital, care home, or family home. The rite includes scripture readings, laying on of hands, and anointing with blessed oil. It may be combined with Confession and Holy Communion.
Call the parish office
We will arrange for a priest to visit as soon as possible.
For emergencies
Call the parish office's emergency line at any hour. A priest is available around the clock for urgent cases.
Community anointing
We also celebrate a communal Anointing of the Sick several times per year at Mass. Watch the bulletin for dates.
