First Communion is the moment a child receives the Body and Blood of Christ for the first time. It is one of the great milestones of Catholic life. Children typically prepare in Grade 2 (around age 7 to 8) through our Faith Formation program, though preparation is available for older children and adults as well.
Our First Communion program runs from September through May, meeting weekly or bi-weekly. Children learn about the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist, how to receive Communion with reverence, and how the Mass connects to our everyday lives.
