This week
- •Deacon John invites us to join him in prayer for our downtown homeless community on Tuesday, September 1 at 2:30 PM in the small hall at St. Patrick's Parish. All are welcome.
- •St. Vincent de Paul thanks you for your August donations. Silent begging for the poor in our community takes place the third weekend of each month; the next is September 19 and 20.
- •Children's Liturgy programs begin Sunday, September 13. I AM SPECIAL explains God's word for children aged 3 to 6 (younger with a parent) at the Sunday 9 AM Mass, with teachers Michael & Linda Kubinec, 250-926-0187. Children's Liturgy of the Word for school-aged children is taught by Sharon Turner Rondquist. For more information about either program call 250-923-0763.
- •Pre-school has openings for new students. Classes are Tuesday and Thursday mornings, 9 to 11:30. The Catechism team is also looking for one or two new volunteers to teach the level one class. Please call Sharon at 250-202-0476.
- •Development and Peace (Caritas Canada) Fall Workshop for the Mid-Island area is Friday, September 18 from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM at St. Mary's Church Hall, 1135 - 4th Ave, Ladysmith. All members and friends are welcome. Info: 250-616-7170.
- •Development and Peace (Caritas Canada) is raising funds for Colombia earthquake relief. Visit devp.org for information and to donate.
- •Mary's Statue Replacement Campaign is being coordinated by the CWL. To support the project, make your donation to the CWL and indicate it is for the Mary statue replacement.
- •Pastoral Care Training: nine free online sessions, Saturdays 9:30 AM to noon PST, Sept. 26 to Nov. 28, 2026 (no session Oct. 10). Info: moiraking@shaw.ca.
- •CWL Garage Sale is October 3, 10 AM to 4 PM. If you are downsizing or have unneeded items, please save them for the sale.
- •World Youth Day 2027 in Seoul: Fr. Joseph Yuson is organizing the diocesan pilgrimage group going to Seoul, South Korea, a gathering of more than a million young people celebrating our Catholic faith (ages 19 to 35, July 26 to August 11, 2027). Fill out the non-committal survey to help with planning, or contact jyuson@rcdvictoria.org.
- •Bottle recycling continues Saturdays 10 AM to noon. Aug. 22 raised $609.40. Thank you!
